Symptom
Symptoms vary depending on the type and duration of the disease. Common symptoms include nipple depression, nipple discharge, subareolar lumps, and parareolar abscesses. Many patients may also be asymptomatic or have only nipple discharge symptoms.
Typical symptom
The most common symptom is nipple discharge, the extent of which varies from person to person, disease to disease, and time to time. Lumps can be found under the areola, and with the progression of the disease, local skin redness, swelling, heat and pain, axillary lymph node enlargement, and systemic symptoms such as chills and high fever will also occur. Symptoms sometimes resolve on their own. If repeated attacks, may cause local skin rupture, impotence tube.
According to clinical manifestations, it can be divided into three stages: acute stage, subacute stage and chronic stage.
Acute stage
There are no obvious symptoms in the early stage, and there may be spontaneous or intermittent nipple discharge. When the breast is pressed, the discharge is brownish yellow or bloody and purulent, and the symptoms can last for many years. As the disease progresses, it can cause acute inflammatory reactions, manifested as skin redness, swelling, heat, and pain in the Milky Way. The axillary lymph nodes are swollen and tender.
Subacute stage
After the inflammation subsided in the acute stage, the fibrous tissue hyperplasia appeared, which was manifested as a slight painful mass in the areola area with unclear boundaries and different sizes. The puncture could extract pus, and the abscess would form pus impotence if it burst.
Chronic phase
After repeated attacks of the disease, one or more induration with unclear boundaries appears in the areola area, and skin adhesion, so that the skin is orange peel like change, and the nipple retraction deformation. Serous or bloody papillorrhea may occur. The axillary lymph nodes may be palpably swollen.
Concomitant symptom
Patients in the acute phase can be accompanied by systemic inflammation, manifested as high fever, chills, body temperature is generally between 38°C and 40°C. Patients in the subacute and chronic stages generally have no other concomitant symptoms.
